Blinkr is designed to discover business opportunities that may become visible when different people's capabilities and resources are considered together.
This page explains, in simple terms, how recommendations may be created.
1. Information used for discovery
Depending on what you choose to provide, Blinkr may consider information such as:
- skills;
- professional experience;
- interests;
- business goals;
- availability;
- participation preferences;
- location and travel preferences;
- professional networks;
- assets and resources; and
- other relevant profile information.
2. Blinkr does not rely on one technology
Blinkr's recommendations may be created using a combination of:
- structured profile information;
- application rules;
- ranking methods;
- candidate-selection algorithms; and
- AI-assisted analysis.
Generative AI is therefore not responsible for every step of Blinkr.
Some basic potential combinations can be identified through Blinkr's own application logic without generative AI.
3. Identifying complementary combinations
Blinkr generally looks for complementarity, rather than simply finding people who are similar.
For example, a combination containing:
- someone with teaching experience;
- someone with business and operational experience; and
- someone with access to an appropriate workspace
may reveal a different opportunity than three users who all have the same skill.
Blinkr may consider factors such as skills, resources, availability, location and goals when identifying potential combinations.
4. AI-assisted analysis
Where appropriate, Blinkr may use AI to analyse selected combinations.
AI may help with tasks such as:
- suggesting a possible business opportunity;
- explaining why different capabilities may complement each other;
- identifying possible customer groups;
- identifying missing skills or resources;
- suggesting initial validation steps; or
- presenting an opportunity in an understandable way.
AI is used to strengthen the discovery process, not to replace all of Blinkr's own logic.
5. Suggestions are not facts
An AI-generated suggestion may be wrong, incomplete or impractical.
Blinkr should distinguish between information users have actually provided and new suggestions generated by the system.
For example, if software infers that your past experience may indicate an additional skill, that inference should not automatically become a confirmed profile fact without appropriate confirmation.
6. Opportunity recommendations are starting points
A Blinkr opportunity is intended to answer a question such as:
"What might these people and resources be able to build together?"
It does not mean:
"This business is guaranteed to succeed."
Users should independently assess:
- market demand;
- legal requirements;
- financial viability;
- required licences;
- risks;
- team compatibility; and
- other practical considerations.
7. You remain in control
Blinkr does not decide that you must:
- join a team;
- contact another user;
- contribute an asset;
- volunteer;
- invest money;
- create a company; or
- pursue a suggested opportunity.
You decide whether a recommendation is relevant to you.
You may be able to indicate that you are:
- interested;
- maybe interested;
- not interested; or
- interested in saving an opportunity for later.
8. Profile information remains yours to confirm
Where Blinkr suggests profile information based on a CV, imported data or automated analysis, you should have an opportunity to review relevant inferred information before it is treated as a confirmed fact about you.
9. Improving recommendations
Feedback such as whether an opportunity was relevant or whether a team was formed may be used to improve Blinkr's recommendation process.
How this information is processed is described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Privacy
Blinkr aims to use only the information reasonably necessary for recommendation and opportunity-discovery functions.
Not all profile information needs to be publicly visible for Blinkr to use it internally for discovery.
For more information about personal data, external AI providers and your privacy rights, see our Privacy Policy.
